Paragliding tutorial about XC paragliding and how to fly further, higher and faster by shifting your awareness from the things that are below you, to the things that are above and in front of you. This lesson maps directly to our lives where we tend to chronically scratch along and worry about keeping the peace. We don't bring up the things that our girlfriend does that irritate us because we're afraid she'll blow up or even worse, leave. We don't demand our promotions at work because we're afraid to find out that we don't actually deserve it, or that we're going to have to have hard negotiations. We don't tell our friends the various ways that our relationships don't feel good to us cause we don't want to seem like whinny sissy yada yada's. The point here is that it is absolutely possible to shift our attention and our lives towards radically better states of being. I've been here in Italy for 2 weeks paragliding, guiding and teaching. In that time I've noticed lots of things that pilots here are doing that is making their lives harder and their flying less safe. So, I'm offering some tips! FOLLOW ME ON INSTAGRAM FOR WAY MORE PARAGLIDING AND LIFE https://www.instagram.com/ariintheair/ 1) Stop disconnecting your glider after every flight 2) Stop setting up on launch! Only walk onto launch when you are fully ready, have performed your preflight check and have your glider rosetted and ready to lay out 3)Follow rear risers out to ensure that you never have another brake twist in your life 4) Don't let go of the brakes off launch 5) Do a solid pre-flight routine 6) Make your launching routine the same every time 7) Smile, introduce yourself, be helpful and ask for help when you need it I hope this helps. Common xc paragliding launch mistakes and 4 tips on how to remedy them. https://theparaglidingacademy.com/tours/dolomites-xc/ September 1-9 2024 The pinnacle of mountain flying- If you want to have the most incredible paragliding trip of your life, with a tight-knit group, flying big xc flights over insane peaks, under perfect clouds, with ari wingtip to wingtip with you, coaching you at every step, this tour is for you. Let us do the heavy lifting with lodging, transport and weather so you can focus on the best flying of your life. This course is for xc pilots who have at least 50hrs, have flown some decent xc flights (~50km) and have completed some SIV training. These pilots probably have a pod harness and at least a high B glider. They are ready to really level up and they’ve put in the homework to be ripe for a week of articulate instruction. This tour will move around the dolomites to chase the best conditions, in coordination with locals on the ground. This tour is for pilots who are keen to push hard for a week of flying. We might have to move to a different hotel mid week, we might have to drive a few hours in the morning to get to a different launch, we might have big retrieves in the evenings if we fly far.
